The CCTV Installation Process

From first enquiry to final handover, here's what to expect when a CCTV system is installed at your property.

CCTV installation runs through site assessment, a written quotation, cabling and camera mounting, recorder setup and configuration, on-site testing, and a handover where you're shown how to use the system.

Step by step

  1. Enquiry and requirements call

You tell us about your property, the areas you want covered, and any existing equipment.

  2. Site assessment

Where needed, we visit the property to confirm camera placement, cable routes, power access and any obstructions.

  3. Written quotation

You receive a written quote covering equipment, cabling and installation labour based on the assessment.

  4. Cabling

Cable is routed neatly to each camera position, using indoor or outdoor-rated cable as appropriate.

  5. Camera mounting

Cameras are mounted and aimed to cover the agreed areas with a clear field of view.

  6. Recorder setup

The DVR or NVR is installed and connected to the cameras and, where required, the property network.

  7. Configuration

Recording schedules, motion detection and remote viewing on a mobile app are configured.

  8. Testing

Each camera, the recorder and remote access are tested on site to confirm everything works as expected.

  9. Handover and training

You're shown how to use the recorder and mobile app before we leave, so you can view and manage footage yourself.

After installation

Once a system is installed, periodic checks help keep it working reliably — see our CCTV maintenance and repair service for ongoing support after handover.
